No star of the constellation exceeds the magnitude 3,5.

DescriptionVery weak constellation, between Andromeda and Cygnus. During the XX century, in Lacerta well three novae stars appeared; currently, however it doesn't contain particular objects visible with small telescopes.

Mythology
and history
The constellation was drawn in 1687 by Johannes Hevelius. Hevelius gave it also another name, Stellio the Triton, that however fell soon into disuse.
