|Description||Small constellation to the south of Carina.
The only remarkable star is eta Volantis, a double formed by a white component of fourth magnitude and by a yellow component of sixth magnitude.
|The constellation was drawn by the Dutch navigators Pieters Dirkszoon Keyser and Frederik de Houtman towards the end of the XVI century. At first it was called Piscis Volans: it represents the animal of which it has the name.|
