No star of the constellation exceeds the magnitude 3,5.

DescriptionWeak constellation of the equatorial region, beside Pegasus: in order of extension, it is the second among the smallest constellations of the sky (the first one is Crux).

It doesn't contain particular heavenly objects, besides a double star, epsilon Equulei, formed by a yellow component of fifth magnitude and by a white-blue component of seventh magnitude.


Mythology
and history
The constellation was drawn perhaps by Ptolemy: it represents Celeris, brother of the near Pegasus.
